You need to add detail to your question in order to get a useful answer.
What is the make and model of your scanner?
When you say that you have “35mm photos,” do you mean that you have slides, prints or negatives?
Besides the software that came with your scanner, what image processing software (Photoshop, etc.) do you use?
To get a good digital copy of a 35mm print, I use 300dpi for my resolution setting. If I am scanning a small print, I will use 600dpi. If I had a better pc, I would always use 600-1200dpi, but it freezes my cheap computer if I do. When I scan a 35mm print at 300dpi, the resulting file size is usually about 6-8MB.
You only need the scanner, its power cord, the software that came with it, a usb cord to connect the scanner to the pc, and, of course, a computer.
I hope this was helpful.
If you’re scanning a print, follow the instructions on your scanner. The higher the DPI (dots per inch… dots are pixels and your screen is about 72 dpi) the better quality and bigger size print you’ll get.
If you have negatives or slides, you need a special adapter or special scanner.
