    there may be options to change how gallery views images from camera, it may have helped to know camera name, and what software is use to transfer,

    “windows photo gallery” vista

    from menu you can select drop down icon to view thumbnails or info with images,

    there may be other software that came with camera, that would be more user friendly for viewing images,

    Picasa may be another viewer that works well,
