Vista.jpg extension got mapped wrong. How 2 reset?

Should be Windows photo gallery based on .jpeg setting, but when I changed the .jpg to that app, the app opens in regular mode and doesn’t show image.
I checked both registry setting were identical. Anyone know what happend to advanced file type settings?

You should just change the default application that handles the file by right clicking the image and selecting Open With and it should show a list of applications. I’m sure that is how it is for vista but it’s that way for xp.
Control Panel -> Folder Options -> File Types Tab
From there you can choose specifics for all of your file types.
